Punk Rock, Chinese Style

According to this report from Foreign Exchange, the children of China’s one-child policy, now in their 20s, are expressing themselves in forms adopted from Western pop-culture, such as punk rock:

Judging by “Bie Shang Dang,” Chinese is much better suited than some languages (French, for example) to the cadences of punk. On “Your Are My Sunshine,” sung in English, the singer adopts that British-inflected punk-singer voice (à la Green Day).
