Policy Brief: Afghanistan 2011
Andrew M. Exum | Center for a New American Security | 2009-10-20
The Center for a New American Security details three possible scenarios for Afghanistan in the next twenty-four months following the White House's recently revised Central Asia strategy.
"It now appears as if some of the assumptions behind the administration's original policy and strategic goals were false. The administration is thus correct to revisit its plan. As it does so, it is useful to imagine scenarios for what Afghanistan might look like 24 months from now and how U.S. policy might make each scenario more or less likely."
