Iran's Nuclear Program: Status
Paul K. Kerr | Congressional Research Service | 2009-09-18
This September 2009 report by the Congressional Research Service examines the status of Iran's nuclear program in the context of claims made by Iranian authorities and reactions by the U.N. Security Council. The report asserts that despite pressure from the Security Council, Iran "continues to enrich uranium, install and operate additional centrifuges, and conduct research on new types of centrifuges." The report contends that it remains "unknown," however, whether Iran is actually pursing a nuclear weapons program.
