Shirley A. Kan | Congressional Research Service | 2010-07-15
This report examines challenges faced by the United States in enlisting the full support of the People’s Republic of China in the counterterrorism fight against Al Qaeda. While it identifies positive strides that have been made, the report’s summary maintains that recent years have seen an increase in U.S. concerns about the extent of China’s cooperation, particularly as pertains to “China-origin arms that have been found in the conflict involving U.S. forces in Afghanistan.”
The report updates an earlier report by the same author and under the same title, dated May 8, 2009, in the WPR Document Center.
