Combating Trafficking as Modern Day Slavery

This report examines a spectrum of issues and policy implications associated with human trafficking in the OSCE member states and explores the multiple forms of trafficking, addressing them as severe human rights violations, serious transnational organized crime, and threats to the individual and State security. As pertains to human trafficking and the global sex trade, the report asserts that "women and girls are still the main groups targeted by traffickers; nevertheless, a small percentage of male children, young men and transgender individuals in vulnerable conditions also fall prey to different trafficking and exploitation systems."
