Russia's Prospects in Asia
Stephen J. Blank | U.S. Army War College | 2010-12-15
This report commissioned by the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute examines Russia's growing economic interaction with the Northeast Asia (NEA) "troika" of China, Japan and South Korea. "Becoming an important part of the NEA should be a cornerstone of Russia’s strategic relations with Asia Pacific," the report states. "Russia’s trade with the NEA troika has been rising in recent years. China has become the main trading and economic partner in the Asia Pacific for Russia. Russia–China trade is comparable with Russia’s trade with its most important partners in Europe."
