Explaining Declining Support for the War in Afghanistan
Charles A. Miller | U.S. Army War College | 2010-06-15
This report commissioned through the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute, sets out to explain the causes of declining public support in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, France and Germany for the war in Afghanistan. While a variety of issues and factors are examined, the report asserts that "the main reason why the Afghan war has lost support among the public of the main participating countries is the combination of mounting casualties along with the increasing perception that the effort on the ground is failing."
