This report of the U.N. Secretary-General examines trends in violations of children’s rights and provides information on progress on the grave violations against children in Nepal. The report also provides a contextual overview of the security situation in Nepal by summarizing such developments as the dicharge in 2009 of Maoist army personnel who were verified as minors, and activities in the conflicted Tarai, where "the population, including children, continued to be victims of armed groups."
