Progress Toward Security and Stability in Afghanistan, 2010

As mandated by Congress, the Defense Department must deliver a biannual report describing the comprehensive strategy of the United States for security and stability in Afghanistan. This November 2010 report outlines overall progress with U.S. and NATO efforts in the country. The report's executive summary states: "Areas of security in Kabul and the surrounding districts have allowed for improvements in development and governance. Progress is also visible in areas where Coalition forces have been on the ground for more than six months, such as Central Helmand Province."
